Our Wild Nature Trek Georgia is designed for true adventurers who want to explore the most remote corners of the Caucasus. This 5-day journey takes you to the mystical Tanie Lake, hidden deep within the mountains of Khevsureti, offering a raw experience of the Georgian highlands. This is not just a hike; it is a profound connection with the untamed spirit of the mountains.
The route of our Wild Nature Trek Georgia follows ancient paths used by highland shepherds for centuries. Starting from the vibrant capital, Tbilisi, we head north toward the rugged landscapes where nature remains in its most pristine form. The highlights of this journey include crossing high mountain passes and discovering abandoned medieval towers that still stand as silent guardians of the valleys.
Your adventure begins in Tbilisi, where you will meet your professional mountain guides. On the first day of the Wild Nature Trek Georgia, we focus on preparation. We discuss the route, check our camping gear, and enjoy a traditional Georgian welcome dinner. This is the perfect time to get to know your fellow travelers before heading into the wilderness of the Greater Caucasus.
The second day marks the true beginning of the wilderness experience. We drive from Tbilisi to Atabe, a small settlement that serves as the gateway to the mountains. From here, we begin our hike into the Tanie Valley. The Wild Nature Trek Georgia continues uphill until we reach the breathtaking Tanie Lake. We set up camp by the crystal-clear water and spend the night under a sky filled with stars, far away from any city lights.
Waking up to the sunrise over Tanie Lake is a moment you will never forget. On the third day of the Wild Nature Trek Georgia, we cross the mountain ridges toward the historic village of Akhieli. This section of the trek is challenging but rewarding, offering panoramic views of the Caucasus peaks. We spend another night in the wild, using professional-grade sleeping bags and tents to ensure comfort in the mountain air.
As we descend from the highlands, our mountain expedition takes us back toward civilization, but not without one last cultural stop. We visit Mtskheta, the ancient capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Seeing the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral after days in the wild provides a beautiful contrast between Georgia’s natural and architectural wonders. We return to Tbilisi in the evening for a well-deserved rest.
The final day is dedicated to relaxation and reflection. After completing the Wild Nature Trek Georgia, you can explore the art and history of Tbilisi at a slower pace. Visit the Sulfur Baths or walk through the narrow streets of the Old Town, carrying the memories of the high Caucasus mountains with you.
To ensure a successful Wild Nature Trek Georgia, travelers should be prepared with the right equipment. We recommend high-quality hiking boots, waterproof jackets, and thermal layers. Since we will be camping at high altitudes, the weather can change quickly. Our team provides the main camping logistics, but personal preparation is key to enjoying the wilderness to the fullest.
We organize this unforgettable Caucasus journey with a focus on safety and authenticity.
