Wildlife Tours in Georgia
Our specialized wildlife tours in Georgia are organized by our team with special zeal, offering guests a unique chance to experience the raw, untouched beauty of the Caucasus. From pristine mountain ranges to rare endemic flora, the itineraries featured on this page are designed for those who seek adventure far from the trodden path, merging perfectly with our active Nature & Adventure activities and our sustainable Nature & Eco-Tours collection.
Explore the Untamed Nature of Khevsureti
The primary focus of our wildlife expeditions is the historic high-mountain region of Khevsureti. Situated on the isolated northern and southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, this area is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts:
Pristine Ecosystems: This highland region is distinguished by its nearly untouched natural landscapes, featuring diverse alpine fauna, large raptors, and rare botanical species.
Architectural Heritage: Amidst the wild nature, you will discover medieval stone towers, abandoned fortresses, and ancient pagan shrines that tell the story of the region’s highland warriors.
Adventure Highlights: Our routes often include trekking to the alpine Abudelauri Lakes and exploring the rugged, remote beauty of the Arkhoti and Sno valleys.
Beyond the Wilderness: Culture and History
While the core of these journeys is wildlife and raw nature, our programs also provide a strategic bridge to the country’s urban and historical centers. To offer a comprehensive experience, we include excursions to:
Tbilisi: Discover the Old Tbilisi districts, the National Botanical Garden, and the State Museums of Art and History.
Mtskheta (UNESCO): Visit the ancient capital, including Jvari Monastery, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and the regional Archaeological Museum.
Diverse Landscapes: Through our broader network, you can also explore karst cave systems, volcanic geological layers, and the magnetic Black Sea coast near Batumi.
Technical Details & Participation Terms
To ensure your comfort and safety during our fieldwork, we maintain the highest organizational standards:
Logistics & Transport: We organize both individual and group tours (minimum 4-6 members). Journeys typically commence from Tbilisi or Batumi. For city transfers, we use standard comfortable vehicles, while off-road mountain routes are carried out by specially selected 4×4 minivans or buses.
Dining & Accommodation: Mountain trekking requires high energy. Therefore, we provide 3 to 4 meals per day, including pre-ordered lunches at local family homes or authentic countryside cafes. Breakfast times are adjusted to summer daylight hours (typically between 7:00 and 7:45 AM) to maximize our field research time.
Professional Support & Communication: Groups are accompanied by professional English translators (German and French translators are available upon request). Despite the remote mountain locations, mobile connection (MagtiCom, Silknet/Geocell, and Cellfie) remains stable throughout most of the territory.
