Ancient History Tour #2: A 7-Day Journey Through the Past

Our Ancient History Tour is an immersive 7-day journey through the cultural layers that shaped the Caucasus. From the prehistoric footprints of Dmanisi to the medieval grandeur of Samtskhe-Javakheti, this trip is designed for those who want to experience the essence of Georgia’s heritage.

Ancient History Tour: Tbilisi & The Origins of Humans (Days 1-2)

The first day of this Ancient History Tour begins in the vibrant capital. We explore the National Museums and the narrow alleys of Old Tbilisi. On the second day, we travel to Dmanisi and Bolnisi. You will see the world-famous archaeological site of Dmanisi and explore the 5th-century Bolnisi Sioni, home to some of the oldest Georgian inscriptions.

Ancient History Tour: Desert Monasteries & UNESCO Sites (Days 3-4)

Day three of our Ancient History Tour takes us to the semi-desert landscape of David Gareja monastery. This is followed by a visit to Mtskheta on day four. Here, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Jvari and Svetitskhoveli, where the spiritual and ancient history of Georgia comes to life.

Ancient History Tour: Cave Cities & Borjomi Waters (Day 5)

On the fifth day, we visit Uplistsikhe, an ancient rock-hewn town. After exploring its pagan and Christian structures, this Ancient History Tour continues towards Akhaltsikhe. Along the way, we stop at Borjomi Park to relax and taste the world-famous mineral waters.

Ancient History Tour: The Grandeur of Samtskhe-Javakheti (Day 6)

Day six is the climax of our journey. We explore the multi-layered Rabati Castle, the strategic Khertvisi Fortress, and the mysterious Vanis Kvabebi caves. We then visit the legendary Vardzia cave city and the megalithic fortress of Saro, one of the most unique sites on this Ancient History Tour.

Why Choose our Ancient History Tour?

The final day includes a scenic drive back to Tbilisi. This journey is designed for travelers who appreciate professional storytelling and authentic encounters. Book your trip today and uncover the ancient secrets of Georgia!
